The Exam That Almost Failed Me

Bola had one course to graduate. One. GST 101.
She missed 2 classes because her mom was in the hospital, so she was scared she’d be disqualified.

Exam day, she got to the hall 10 minutes late. The invigilator was already strict: “No late entry.”
Bola stood outside crying. Another student told her, “Just go home. They won’t let you in.”

Then the HOD walked by. He looked at her, looked at her tear-stained face, and asked “What happened?”
She explained. He paused and said “Come, follow me.”

He walked her into the hall himself. “Let her write.”

Bola wrote the exam shaking. She wasn’t sure of half the answers.
Two weeks later: C. She passed. Graduated.

At her convocation she whispered to herself:
_“Ore ofe sha ni mo ri gba o...
Aanu sha ni mo ri gba o”_
If it had not been for grace and mercy.

Sometimes the door that says “Closed” opens because grace knocks first.
